B.A., Meteorology, 1963; Physics Minor.  Won national MacElwane Award for undergraduate air-sea interaction paper, "On the Role of Air-Sea Interaction in the Development of Cyclones," (under Dr. Joanne Malkus, Professor of Meteorology [now Joanne Simpson]). Major application to the understanding of the development of oceanic storms when fed by cold air pouring out from land masses, and to the forecasting of oceanic storms, including "perfect storm" scenarios.
